Susan Vickery was a kind lady, always looking out for others. She was also a very loving lady. She loved all people and all animals.
She was a very enthusiastic lady, and always bubbling with joy.
As our mother, she always loved my sister and I, and always looked out for us. She was always there for us in our times of need. She was also our friend. We had many good times together.
For over 10 years, she has believed in the Lord. There was a quote she used when defending her belief in salvation and the resurrection: If I.m wrong, then we.re dead anyway. But what if I.m right?
She has had several tests of her faith, including a threat on her life if she did not renounce God. She never compromised when it came to her faith in God.
She has known where she is going for several years. When her body almost shut down a few years ago, she told us afterwards that she put her trust in God to do the right thing.
Mum had health problems for about 25 years, since she took part in a trial of an experimental hormonal treatment. Many times, doctors gave a time limit, but she was a fighter, and never gave up.
She has come close to death several times, but this time her body shut down and she was called home.
We love her very much, and will miss her dearly, and we mourn her departure from this world, but at the same time we rejoice that she has gone home to be with the Lord. She is finally without pain, after years of agony.
We love you very much Mum, and we look forward to the day when we will meet you again, face to face.
